Manuscript Formatting Guide

Proper formatting is essential for a professional manuscript submission. Follow these guidelines to ensure your manuscript meets industry standards.

Format Requirements

  • File type: Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Paragraphs: Indent first line, no extra spacing between paragraphs
  • Page numbers: Insert on bottom right
  • Chapter headings: Bold, centered, begin on a new page

Book Launch Checklist

A successful book launch requires careful planning and execution. Use this checklist to ensure you don't miss any critical steps.

Pre-Launch (3–6 months before)

  • Finalize editing and proofreading
  • Approve book cover and interior design
  • Order proof copies
  • Build an author website/social media presence
  • Create a mailing list for readers

Launch Prep (1–2 months before)

  • Plan a launch event (venue, virtual, or hybrid)
  • Design promotional materials (posters, flyers, social media graphics)
  • Secure media coverage (TV, radio, podcasts)
  • Coordinate with bookstores for placement/signings
  • Record interviews or teasers

Launch Week

  • Release book officially on all platforms
  • Host launch event (in-person or online)
  • Share book trailer and promo graphics widely
  • Engage with readers via Q&A sessions

Post-Launch

  • Continue promotion for 3–6 months
  • Collect reviews (Amazon, Goodreads, local press)
  • Monitor sales and royalties
  • Schedule school, church, or community events to boost visibility
